Sales Taxes being added to facility and camp fees
The state of Kentucky recently change the sale tax law to include fees charged by organizations like The Hill for camps and facility usage. This can be a significant amount for a large event and we are trying to alert our regular retreat planners of the change. Fortunately, most of the groups we deal with are churches and established organizations with Ky sales tax exemptions. However, that won’t work for summer campers and other youth events with a fee unless it is paid by another sales tax exempt organization such as a church, etc.
If you are planning to attend an event with fees for 2023 and want to avoid the 6% added sales tax, you can register for those events before January 1, 2023.
Camp/Youth Retreat Visitor Policy
To ensure the safety and security of camp and retreat attendees under the age of nineteen, The Hill at BASIC Training has implemented a new visitor policy effective June 2021. Click here to see the new policy.
Summer High School Youth Event Waivers
For events that don’t require a regular application as camps and retreats do, we require a liability waiver be completed to participate in certain activities such as the obstacle course or high school summer youth events. Please print and complete a copy of the appropriate waiver in order to participate. The waiver can be turned in to any staff member at The Hill.
For minors (under 18). For those age 18 and above.
Romanos, Las Verdades Fundamentales de Romanos 1-8
We recently joined together with two Hispanic churches to celebrate publication of the Spanish version of Bob’s life-changing Romans course. All but one of the translators were with us: Sarah Cunningham, Jaime Masso, and Jair Tapia. Leonardo Vargas was not able to make it. Present along with the staff, students and friends of The Hill were around 80 Hispanic believers. Everyone who joined us for the celebration received a copy of the new material. You can read more about the event in our 2020 Spring Newsletter located in the newsletter archives.
