Bob Warren was a native of western Kentucky and founder of The Hill, a Bible teaching and discipleship ministry located in Hardin, KY. After receiving a degree in electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University, and during the latter stages of an eight-year professional basketball career, Bob entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ. This decision began a lifelong pursuit to intimately know the heart of God through the full counsel of the Scriptures—all of the Scriptures instead of a select few. Believing in the inerrancy, infallibility, and inspiration of God’s Word, Bob emphasized the necessity of taking all doctrinal issues through the sixty-six books of the Bible to eliminate possible contradiction. As a result, he wrote numerous Bible commentaries and personal studies to equip others in their walk with Christ. Bob walked through life for 24 years with his wife Kim and their son Benjamin before Jesus took him home in August of 2014. |
As the Lord continued to increase the ministry, it became obvious that the need for a larger facility was to be prayerfully considered. The first building to go up was the Manna House conference center. Next came the Ark Dormitory, followed by the addition of a work shop, a log home for small retreats and sabbaticals, the Lodge Dormitory, the Library Meeting Room and Dormitory, and other areas for outdoor recreational opportunities. With these additions, the ministry was now equipped to meet the needs of a wide variety of church groups and Christian organizations desiring to gather for Bible studies, retreats, conferences, and camps.
