Hebrews Excerpt

Introduction To The Course

We are so excited that you are taking this journey through the book of Hebrews. The course is easy to follow. Six days of each week you will read Scripture and answer a set of corresponding questions. Also included in the course are lessons that should answer all the questions and tie everything together that you have covered during the week. If you find you cannot answer a question dealing with a particular verse (after you have exhausted all resources), feel free to read the portion of the lesson that deals with the verse in question. (Verse references are given throughout the lessons for easy reference.) You will see how this works once you begin the course.

Ideally, you should have someone take the course with you (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12), either one person or a group; the choice is yours. We all know that accountability with others is, in most cases, a necessity. Discussing what you learn with your group members can also be a wonderful tool to stimulate growth. Even so, if your only alternative is to take the course by yourself, that will be fine. Just make sure that you hold yourself accountable to finish what you have started.

Be sure to set your own pace. If, in your opinion, there is not enough material covered on a daily basis, you may go ahead, do extra work, and complete the course in fewer weeks. However, if you feel the daily assignments are too long, you can take extra time and complete the course whenever you desire. Obviously, I would suggest that you cover as much of the daily assignments as possible. You don’t want the course to drag on.

Take time to look up all Scripture references. You will be glad you did. Scripture text is taken from the New American Standard Version unless otherwise noted. If you do not have a copy of the NASV, it might be a good idea to obtain one. I have used it for years, and have found it to be a great resource for biblical study. If this is not possible, use the version you have—you will be fine.

We have recorded a set of teaching tapes to go along with the course. If you are interested in receiving these tapes, just write us at B.A.S.I.C. Training, PO Box 13, 989 Wadesboro Rd., Hardin, KY 42048.

If you need copies of the course, we would love to hear from you. We can send them to you in almost no time. Because the proceeds from the course are used to meet the ministry’s needs as well as our own personal needs, we would ask you not to make copies. Thank you for honoring our request.

To begin the course properly, go now to page 1 (at the end of the Introduction) and begin answering the questions under First Day of Week 1. Tomorrow you will answer the questions under Second Day of Week 1 and proceed from there. Have fun! Don’t forget to pray each day before doing your assignments.
